Public Consultation

Public Consultation is a process designed to involve people that may be Interested in, or Affected by a particular activity. This allows Interested and Affected Parties to be involved in the decision making process. It is a procedure required by the Mozambican laws governing Environmental Impact Assessment Studies, Decree 54/2015 and Ministerial Diploma 130/2006 on Public participation in environmental impact assessment studies. It is also required by the World Bank Group, and the IFC (International Financial Corporation).

Public Consultations are compulsory for projects that require an Environmental Impact Assessment.
