EIA for the proposed Pipeline from Temane Liquid Processing Unit to a Floating Storage and Offshore Unit in Inhambane Province, Mozambique
Meeting of the Stakeholders’ Forum (PI&As)
IMPACTO, in partnership with ERM, will hold on March 3rd, the Second Meeting of the PI&As Forum for the Pipeline Project from the Liquid Processing Unit (LPU) in Temane, adjacent to the existing Central Unit of Processing (CUP) to a offshore Floating Storage and Export Unit (FSO) in Inhambane Province.
The Forum was created under the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process of the proposed Project with the aim of creating a platform for regular interaction between the Project and the PI&As with regards to project developments and the EIA Process, where concerns and specific contributions of PI&As can be discussed in detail. this Forum intends to promote productive, deep and effective discussions in which results will be integrated in the EIA process and project implementation.
A complaint mechanism has also been established to allow interested parties to presents their concerns to Sasol so that joint solutions can be sought.
The Forum meetings are an additional tool for engagement, in addition to the public consultation meetings required by law for the EIA Processes.
The first PI&As Forum Meeting was held in February 2016, with a diverse range of participants, from representatives of the communities from the project area, decision-makers, influential people to stakeholders from the Inhambane City, Vilankulo, Inhassoro and Bazaruto.
